Text:
In recent years, the PLAGUE team has held two solo exhibitions Total and Made in Heaven, as well as several group projects such as the Plague Expo Show, Plague Fashion Show, Popart2, Antitled, Logo and Rebranding. All these stories are combined by one curatorial vector — the study of the relationship between art, design and politics. From one exhibition to another,PLAGUE takes recognizable visual images or cultural phenomena related to their production and replication as a basis each time: design, fashion, pop art, etc. The motto uniting all these projects was a phrase from the film “The Chinese” (1967) by Jean-Luc Godard: “It is necessary to confront vague ideas with clear images”. This principle became the starting point in our reflections on the world events that have happened in recent years, starting with Covid-19, as well as how art, the ways of its production and presentation have changed.
